Tie-Back Walls
Ideal on re-development or urban projects where there are confined spaces and adjacent structures, tie-back walls allow simultaneous excavation and lateral support of adjoining areas.
Using our design-build approach, we construct these via installation of soldier piles connected by wood bracing, then we tie them into the adjacent soil with grouted steel tendons. Lateral pressure is distributed via the piles, and the tiebacks are post-tensioned against the piling.
For temporary walls, especially those in the 20-foot-high range in a cut situation, tie-backs are a great supplement to a post-and-panel wall. They provide the additional resistance to handle the added driving force of the soil, and they are the lowest-cost option when compared to struts and rakers.
Tie-backs also are very economical when up against cast-in-place concrete for permanent walls, and their pre-cast concrete coverings come in a variety of shapes and designs. Other applications include landslide stabilization, repair of existing retaining walls and bridge abutments.

Multiple shapes and designs give permanent tie-backs a great deal of versatility. |
