  • Annual Holiday Potluck and Yankee Gift Exchange

    GeoStructures recently gathered for the Annual Holiday Potluck and Yankee Gift Exchange to celebrate the upcoming Holiday Season.

    More importantly, Geo donated over 400 lbs of groceries to Loudoun Hunger Relief! We wish each of you a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!


  • Sur de Texas-Tuxpan Gas Pipeline project in Mexico

    Terratest Tunneling, subsidiary of Terratest (parent company of GeoStructures), performed microtunneling of the Sur de Texas-Tuxpan Gas Pipeline project in Mexico. The project set a World-Record as the longest Sea Outfall with TBM Rescue from under the Seabed 2,244 m (7,360 ft) length, 3,200 mm (10.5 ft) OD. For a firsthand look at this monumental project.

  • EVENT: WACEL April Membership Meeting (April 25th)

    The April WACEL Membership meeting is Thursday, April 25th, at Maggiano’s restaurant in the Tyson’s Galleria at 11AM. The presentation topic is “Five Ways to Improve the Cost and Performance of Ground Improvement for Foundation Support Projects”. The Presenter is Mike Cowell, PE/CEO & President, GeoStructures.

    Specifying an aggregate pier or rigid inclusion ground improvement foundation support system can save a significant amount of money versus an over excavation or deep foundation option for building projects. However, if the specification is not accompanied by a good baseline geotechnical and structural engineering package that includes site specific design requirements, specific contractor qualification requirements, a clear scope of work, QC requirements, and a measurement and basis of payment requirement, some of the cost savings will not be realized.

    Mike will discuss some of the common practices that need to change to avoid added cost and risk to a project. He will highlight areas of best practices that can lower cost and risk while providing clarity to a ground improvement design-build project.

  • NEWS: Tom Prozinski Joins Team Geo!

    GeoStructures is pleased to announce the addition of Thomas Prozinski to the Geo family.

    Thomas Prozinski recently joined GeoStructures as the Director of Sales based in Purcellville, VA. Tom comes to us from Maxim Crane Works where he was the Regional Vice President of Mid-Atlantic. Tom’s 25+ years of experience in sales and engineering will provide customers with the specialized attention needed to provide solutions to their ground improvement and foundation support challenges. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, MA where he also played on the football team. In his spare time, Tom enjoys playing and watching sporting events particularly his own children’s events.


  • Wilmington Sports Complex Article – Construction Equipment Guide

    Honored to be a part of the amazing team of The Buccini/Pollin Group, BPGS Construction, Desai/Nasr Consulting Engineers, Inc, and Geo-Technology Associates, Inc who will deliver the state-of-the-art 76ers Fieldhouse in Wilmington, DE early this year. The site was environmentally impacted, so any foundation system employed needed to mitigate spoil generation and be composed of a low permeability material to mitigate risk for cross contamination. Due to the fast-track nature of the project, Geopier Rigid Inclusions were deemed best to provided settlement control for the new sports complex.
